For his month’s farm walk on Sunday 28th February we will gain another practical pastural perspective  from Phil Stringer and his positively perspicacious porcine performers.   Details are:

Sunday 28th February, starting at 2pm.
Tamworth Flyers, 1229 Noosa Rd, Tandur
Happy pigs fed by a subtropical garden

Phil Stringer, one of the (very active) directors of the co-op, has again offered his hospitality to show us round his pastured pig enterprise and subtropical fodder gardens.   You can read an excellent independent and comprehensive account of his operation and philosophy here:  http://www.pebblesandpomegranateseeds.com.au/ethically-farmed-pork-definitely-tasting-better/

The farm walk is at 1229 Noosa Rd Tandur, and the driveway is almost opposite Parkyn Rd.  Please use common sense and follow any signs that may be on the property on the day when it comes to choosing where to park. We  appreciate it when you let us know by email (maryvalleycountryharvest@gmail.com)  that you intend coming.  (This lets us  know who to contact if there are any last-minute changes of plan.)

As usual, we invite you to bring a snack to share at the conclusion of the session.  Tea, coffee and cold water will be provided and we ask that everyone drops a gold coin donation in the tin for the farmer who makes time in their busy life to share information with others.  These Sunday afternoon chats are great way to meet people with similar interests  and swap useful ideas and information.
